FAQ

  • What materials do you use in your jewellery?
We use premium, solid metals — including 9ct and 18ct yellow gold, 9ct white gold, and sterling silver — to ensure your piece lasts a lifetime. These materials are chosen for their durability, beauty, and timelessness. Unlike plated or cheaper alloys, solid gold and sterling silver won’t wear away or tarnish with everyday wear. They’re also hypoallergenic, making them a safe and comfortable choice for most skin types. Our jewellery is designed to be meaningful and lasting — whether you’re celebrating your pet or remembering one you’ve loved.
  • What is your design process?
Every piece starts with a sketch — whether it’s based on a popular breed or a custom pet. We study the unique features of each animal and turn those details into a stylised design that captures their personality. From there, we create a 3D model, which is used to produce a wax prototype for casting. Each pendant is then cast in your chosen metal (solid gold or sterling silver) and finished by expert jeweller family, right here in Australia. Whether it’s one of our ready-to-order breeds or a fully custom creation, each piece goes through the same thoughtful process to make sure it’s something truly special.
  • What if I don’t see my pet’s breed in the pre-designed options?
No problem! You can choose our custom design option and send in photos of your pet. We’ll create a pendant that captures their unique charm. Alternatively, we are always adding new breeds to our collection, and love taking your requests, so drop us a message on our Contact us page!
  • What are the shipping costs and delivery times?
We offer FREE express shipping Australia-wide on all orders. As all pieces are made to order please allow 25 business days for delivery. You will be notified once your order has been shipped. For international shipping costs, this will be applied on order.
  • Will my jewellery tarnish over time?
No — our jewellery is made from solid precious metals (not plated), which means it won’t flake, rub off, or tarnish in the way costume jewellery can. Sterling silver may naturally darken slightly over time due to oxidation, but this can be easily cleaned and polished back to its original shine. Gold pieces (both 9ct and 18ct) are very durable and will maintain their colour and finish with proper care.
  • What should I do if my jewellery arrives damaged?
If your jewellery arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it. We’ll work with you to repair or replace the piece as needed.
  • Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Because each piece is currently made to order we are unable to offer returns or refunds for change of mind. However, if your jewellery arrives damaged, faulty, or not as described, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order and we’ll make it right. Non-personalised and custom items may be eligible for exchange if returned unused and in original packaging within 14 days. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Please contact us if there are any problems with your products.
  • How do I place an order for a custom pendant?
Send us a message at hello@goldenchild.com.au with your request. Let us know what size, material and provide any details for engraving. Then you’ll send us your favourite images of your pet, we will sketch, design and create a digital model for you to approve. It will then get cast and finished by our expert jewellers. A deposit will need to be made before work commences. (50% upfront deposit at the time of order. 50% balance payable before shipping or collection)
  • How long does it take to create a custom pendant?
Custom pendants typically take 4-6 weeks from the time you place your order to delivery. We’ll send updates along the way so you know exactly when to expect your piece.
  • Do you offer engraving?
Yes! We offer optional engraving for an additional AUD $50. You can add names, dates, or short messages during the order process.
  • What is the custom design process?
Our custom design process lets you turn your own pet into a one-of-a-kind pendant. You’ll start by sending us your favourite photos and a few details — like the size, metal, chain preference, and any engraving. From there, we’ll design and create a 3D model, and send you a digital preview for approval. Once you're happy, we cast the pendant in your chosen metal and finish it by hand. It’s a thoughtful process from start to finish, and we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
  • Is the deposit for custom designs refundable?
The initial deposit for custom designs is non-refundable once we begin creating the design. This policy ensures that we can cover time and resources used during the customisation process.
  • What kind of photos should I send for a custom design?
We recommend sending clear, high-resolution photos that show your pet’s face and key features. Front-on images are required. Make sure you capture them at their best!
